When the sun goes down I will be honoring the god Dionysus. Dionysus is the god of wine, ecstasy, and revelry. He’s the son of Zeus and a mortal woman, making him a demigod at birth. However his mother was killed by Hera and Zeus saved him by sowing him into his calf, so he’s known as twice-born, sometimes thrice-born. Hestia gave up her throne when he arrived, deciding that the hearth was better.

Raise a glass to him and thank Dionysus for the gift of the vine.
