So this is the only one that I’m posting this week and then I’ll be back doing them on a Monday. This one is ‘Be on Your Guard.’ I don’t know what it meant back then and I’m a little confused by it now. I’ll have to think about it and probably edit this post to add that. I hope that you can figure it out.
When the sun goes down I will be celebrating Asklepia. Asklepias, the son of Apollon, was a very important deity due to his healing powers. In fact his healing temple was taken over by Christians and rededicated to a saint, can’t remember which one. This shows how popular he was and how much he was loved.
I’m finally getting back into doing my Delphic Maxims. This one is really simple to understand, but one that many people fail to understand or do. Jealously is, and has always been, a bad thing. It makes people do stupid things and it causes them to break other laws or just look really stupid. When my brother became manager and started to make more money, I wasn’t jealous of him.
He earned that and that’s what counted. When I see people jealous of what others have I really shake my head. You have no clue what kind of problems that that person is having that has what your jealous of. Don’t think that they’re life is rosy and good. Jealously is never a good feeling to have and it can lead to unwise decisions.
Last night I celebrated Elaphebolia, which honors Artemis. Hellenion had a short ritual that I found very easy to do. Some of the words were a bit hard to pronounce, but I managed it. I believe that Artemis knew what I was getting at. Didn’t have wine, which I really need to get, but I gave her what I had. Sorry for no photo but I did enjoy myself and it made me feel reconnected to my path.
I hope that your Elaphebolia was a good one as well.
When the sun goes down the new Athenian month begins. This list is based on the Hellenion calendar that my group follows. Hope that you have a blessed one and that the gods continue to bless you.
